A quintessential master of contemporary impressionism who has established himself as one of South Africa’s leading artists and has been painting for well over 40 years.
Christiaan Nice has not received any formal instruction in fine art and is a self-taught artist by profession.
His work is widely recognized for his diverse subjects such as, Donkey carts, District Six Cape scenes, harbour scenes, landscapes as well as excellent studies of children.
Through skilful brushwork and drawings form his life experiences, he creates images where the viewer feels he has become one with the theme or subject portrayed on canvas.
